When You Have no Career Passion

I want to pose a question to the audience. Does your Career line up with your passions?

I think many of us are told to pursue a career that aligns with our passions. For some, it’s straightforward. Many people take an aptitude test in high school, and it aligns strongly with one or two interests and a few careers under each of those interests. They have passion for their career choice.

But what if you are like myself, I have many interests and passions. I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree. It took me six years to graduate with a four-year degree due to program changes. I never failed a course; in fact, I graduated on the honor roll. My Major was in Economic Geography, and I had a minor in Urban Studies; I also had undeclared minors in seven other subject areas. Futurology, Anthropology, Interdisciplinary Studies, Technology of Health and War, Political Science, Psychology, & Interior Design. I have passions, but they happen to be a little less focused. When I graduated, I still didn’t know what I wanted to be when I grew up.

I started off looking for jobs in Urban Planning, but that was impossible to secure without a master’s degree. Plan “A” was to work for a year and return to Grad School and pursue that program. The funny thing is that four months…
