All I can say as a Gen-X, is that I have been on this "Don't Want to Work" page for a very long time. I have never had a promotion or raise despite working overtime and doing other people's jobs, I think it was my willingness to do this that resulted in not getting promoted, and caring to do a good job, or at least the best job that I could do. The result has been a lot of jobs in my career, possibly too many because I would quit.

Now I choose not to work...and I'm only in my 50's. It's not that I don't work I do work, at a lot of things, I work 7-days a week, building an online income in a variety of ways. I have income from several sources, and I also have a part-time job with a major transportation co that allows me substantial flexibility to top up earnings when I am short, but the hours I have been working there keep declining because I don't need the money.

I think that technology has re-invented the cottage industry, small niche producers of content and other products. So many people today do not need to work full-time for "The Man". Almost everybody I know has a side-hustle, that prevents them from doing what the big company demands of them, because if they didn't have the side hustle, they wouldn't be making their economic ends meet, and that is the companies problem, not the emploee's problem.
