As a Canadian, it is impossible to ignore US politics, From my perspective it seems like the campaign never ends because you have the 4 year and the mid-term election cycles. In Canada we don't have fixed election dates but 5 years is the max you can go, and when an election is called it is a minimum of 36 days to a maximum of 50 days. Also our house can fall at any time in a non-confidence voted and trigger an election any time. We have had them sometimes as frequently as 18 months apart in the case of a minority government.
