I'm at the opposite side of that problem at the moment, my children are still in public school. When Grandchildren come into play, we plan to be adaptable, currently my son's grandparents live 5000km away, and my parents when they were alive were 900km away, in a place we could only drive to in about 12 hours so yes, not having much interaction with grand-kids is something that we want to do differently. Buy my son could work international anyway so we may end up globetrotting.
