Re-seller Hell! — I’ve Got the Hot Brands and They are Not Selling!
I started reselling a little over a year ago. I got into it to get rid of my child’s gently used clothing, I have a 6’ tall 12-year-old so he only wears things for a few weeks before he outgrows them. Additionally, I have also started an exercise program a year earlier and have lost enough weight to begin revamping my wardrobe and sell a few of my own personal things as well. I had early success on Poshmark and eBay, selling a few things without even trying. In the first month I sold a couple of personal items on Poshmark without sharing or doing any of the things that the Poshmark algorithm desires and I thought this would be easy, so why not scale up.
A little over a year later and I have managed to sell only one item of children’s clothing, and my net payout was only about a$1.50 after Poshmark fees, shipping discount, and shipping supplies, I could have done better with a garage sale. I have managed to sell a reasonable amount of adult clothing. I will add that I am a guy selling on a platform that is dominated, over 70% by female shoppers. Most of my sales have occurred once I ventured into sourcing women’s clothing & accessories, but you always get the cross-eyed stairs from other shoppers when sourcing women’s body suits, bras and…
