Reselling Arbitrage

A Tale of Two Countries

I am a Reseller, mostly of Thrifted Clothing. I sell on Poshmark Canada, Poshmark USA, and also on the eBay US site.

I have a few questions though, the Canada and US markets behave very differently.

My Observations:

  1. If I price my product aggressively, at the upper end or even above what I think, or what research says I should charge for an item.
  • In Canada, I will get no views at all, Item gets completely ignored. I price high because I expect negotiation and this is how I get the price that I really want.

· When I cross list to the USA sites, I get good reasonable offers, often I will accept the first offer because it is a good one and very close to what I wanted in the first place, even though it may be a couple of dollars lower that what would have been ideal. My aggressive pricing is never ignored.

2. Why do Canadians throw out the most ridiculous low-ball offers?

· I have some new or nearly new product, brands that hold their value exceptionally well, and I will get offers from Canada that are 80–90% less than my asking price. I will not…ever accept your low-ball offers, in fact I just might block you from my store. It seems like everyone from Canada only want to pay $5.00 for anything now.
