When I was in second year of college (1987), one of my younger brothers female friends moved to the city where I was in college. As she didn't know anyone in that city, she decided to look me up as she had been to our house many times. I will add that she was very pretty. Sometimes we went out to clubs and she was never asked for ID.

Even though we were only three years apart in age, it felt creepy picking her up from high school, I will add that her high school was just off campus, and I was certainly not the only guy from the college picking up a girl here.

I kept the relationship platonic, then she decided to find an older guy than me and sleep with him, and then she told me that she thought she was pregnant.

I'm not sure what could have prevented her from going down that path, she seemed to be very determined.

Over a decade later I'm working a part time job in a fast food restaurant for some extra income. There are several high school girls working there. As I get to know them, I am amazed that they pretty much all had boyfriends in there 20's. In some cases, this would be a 5 or 6 year age gap. Further sometimes the girl's parents and the boyfriend would come and pick up the girl, so I can only guess the the parents of the girl were OK with the situation.

I will add that when I was 14, one of my female classmates got married to her parents farm hand, and they had been planning to get married for a couple of years at this point in time. She was a year older than me as she had been held back a grade early on.

In Canada the consent laws are a lot more complicated.
