Where Have All of the Service Workers Gone?
It’s a Myth that most Retail and Hospitality Workers are Lazy and Refusing to go Back to Work
I am writing this as response to the article below which has been closed to comments.
I think the author is missing a critical point. I am currently working what I consider a Covid-Job, it is not a job in my profession, but it is a good job. Most of my co-workers are also from other industries, and I don’t think most of them are going to go back to the restaurants, bars, and retail shops that they worked in prior.
I am currently working for a major small package handling and logistics company that specializes in air freight. The pandemic brought exponential growth to all companies in our sector, and even though the restrictions have relaxed, the demand has not, we are hearing all kinds of stories about logistical bottlenecks and its is only going to get worse from what I am reading.
